Someone had such a good time in the mud and downhills last weekend that they wanted to come back for more. Join us on another epic bike ride through the rugged forests of Ringwood State Park! We head towards the scenic Shepherd Lake and detour over to the famous rusted WWII "Alligator" landing vehicle abandoned deep in the woods. JORBA tricked out the trail with technical rock gardens and switchbacks with some challenging climbs. There are rushing streams and wildlife around as we cross the NY border, before looping back around Shepherd Lake and out behind the NJ Botanical Gardens. We skirted Warm Puppy Rock (still mustering up courage for that one) and discovered a new set of trails between Honeysuckle and Skylands Road. It feels like there's always something new here. It rained the day before, which left the rocky trails slick and gritty. That same someone couldn't resist the mud holes. I'm pretty sure she got all of them. Just when we thought we were done for the day, she insisted on going back for one more lap. We were covered in mud from head to toe by the time we got back to the lot.
