Fantastic morning with a Plough, Growlers and other freight: Eastriggs, Gretna Green 15 April 2026

A morning spent at Gretna Green and Eastriggs on the Gretna Junction - Dumfries - Kilmarnock line - the old 'Sou Western (Glasgow & South Western Railway). With the WCML closed for engineering works north of Gretna Junction, Network Rail are sending Engineer's trains to Scottish destinations via this route. But the highlight were two separate trains going to Eastriggs MOD exchange sidings of Rail Sidings Ltd. The first from GBRf I thought was to remove JNA wagons stored there and take them to Doncaster. However the loco came and left without a load. Then the real highlight, a pair of Colas 37s brought a solitary snow plough.
