A New Dawn in SVG
In my 23-year career as a journalist, I have reported on the highs and lows of this nation, including the opening of Argyle International Airport and the impact of Hurricane Beryl. In 2021, I reported on the eruption of La Soufriere, something that has occurred three times in 120 years — in 1902, 1979 and 2021 — 77 and 42 years apart. But while St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a democratic nation, with elections held every five years, it was the first time in those 23 years that I had an opportunity to report on a change in government.
