After sailing south from Zakynthos, we arrived in Katakolo with a clear mission: prepare SOFIA for our next big adventure — sailing around the Peloponnese. But sometimes life on a sailboat changes course in unexpected ways. After days of tacking and pulling lines, Tuy developed a painful tennis elbow that made even simple movements difficult. While we waited for her arm to recover, we had to make a difficult decision: postpone our challenging Peloponnese journey and continue exploring the Ionian Sea instead. Instead of rushing into a demanding passage, we slowed down and enjoyed what Katakolo had to offer. We explored the coastline, hiked up to the ruins of the old Belvedere Castle overlooking the bay, and found beauty in an unexpected stop. After a week at anchor, Tuy was finally feeling better. The sails went up again, and SOFIA headed north toward our next destination: Killini. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones we never planned.
