When God rejected Saul as king, He sent Samuel to anoint David as Israel’s future king. While others focused on outward appearance, God saw David’s heart and chose him for His purposes. David was not the strongest, oldest, or most impressive candidate, but he was the one God had chosen. After David was anointed, the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him (1 Samuel 16:13). From that moment, God began preparing him for the great responsibilities ahead. David’s life reminds us that God values character more than appearance and that His calling is accompanied by His power. When God gives a task, He also provides the wisdom and strength needed to accomplish it through His Spirit. 📖 Bible Readings: 1 Samuel 16:1–13 (1 Samuel 16:7, Isaiah 11:2, Zechariah 4:6, Matthew 3:16–17, Acts 10:38) 👨🏻💻 Teachings: 1. Humans tend to judge by mere appearance. 2. God sees beyond appearance and looks at the heart. 3. Wisdom and strength come from the Spirit. 💪🏼 Applications: 1. Learn to appreciate people beyond appearance. 2. Learn to obey even when the task is too big for you. 3. Learn to trust God, for He gives wisdom and strength. 🎙Discussion: How can you develop a habit of appreciating people beyond their appearance? 🤿 Dive Deeper: 1. How does David’s anointing point to Jesus’ baptism? 2. How could God send an evil spirit? 🙏🏼 Prayer: Father God, forgive me because sometimes I am being judgmental by just looking at appearance. Help me grow in humility and appreciation for others especially members of my family. Give me the courage to obey You even when the task feels too big or beyond my ability. Remind me that true wisdom and strength come from Your Spirit, not from myself. When I feel weak or inadequate, teach me to trust in Your power. Shape my heart to rely on You daily for with You nothing is impossible. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 00:00 Introduction 1:47 Scripture Reading 2:32 Teaching No. 1 4:53 Teaching No. 2 6:55 Teaching No. 3 9:49 Application No. 1 10:58 Application No. 2 12:22 Application No. 3 13:48 Discussion 14:45 Prayer
