They put palm branches on the road and shouted “Hosanna,” which means “Save us now!” They believed Jesus was the King God promised, but many of them thought He came to save them from the Roman government, not from sin. Jesus entered the city riding on a donkey, fulfilling the prophecy in Zechariah 9:9. A king riding a horse usually came for war, but a king riding a donkey came in peace. Jesus came as a humble King, not to start a political revolution, but to die on the cross to save sinners. This shows that God’s salvation plan was not about earthly politics but about rescuing people from sin through Christ’s death. The crowd praised Jesus, but many did not truly understand who He was or why He came. 📖 Bible Readings: Matthew 21:1–11 Zechariah 9:9 John 12:12–16 Luke 19:37–44 Philippians 2:6–8 Isaiah 53:3–7 👨🏻💻 Teachings: 1. Israel was expecting a national Savior-King. 2. God gave a crucified Savior-King. 3. The Kingdom advances through the gospel of peace. 💪🏼 Applications: 1. Begin this week with a meditative attitude. 2. Know Jesus more deeply through His Final Week. 3. Appreciate the events leading to the cross. 🎙 Discussion: What is the importance of knowing that the Kingdom of Heaven advances, not by human force but by the gospel of peace? 🤿 Dive Deeper: 1. What is the meaning of Hossana? 2. The connection of Triumphal Entry and Psalm 118 3. Why did Jesus say, “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” 🙏🏼 Prayer: Father God, when I read about Jesus entering Jerusalem, I realize that many people were excited about Him but did not really understand Him. Sometimes I may be the same. I may say I believe in Jesus, but I do not fully understand why He came or what He did for me. Please help me not just to praise You with my words, but to truly know You in my heart. Thank You for sending Jesus not just to fix my problems, but to save me from my sin and bring me back to You. Help me follow Jesus as my true King and trust Him even when I do not fully understand everything. In Jesus' name, Amen!
