Unboxing Review of the new Airfix 1/35 FV603 Alvis Saracen Mk.5 https://www.mannsmodelmoments.com Airfix’s new 1/35 Alvis FV603 Saracen Mk 5 has arrived, and this one seems to have landed rather quietly for a kit that plenty of people were waiting to see. In this unboxing, I take a look at the box, instructions, Cartograf decal sheet, grey plastic frames, clear parts, reused Stalwart suspension components, new Saracen hull parts, interior seating, doors, hatches, wheels, turret, machine guns and smaller detail pieces. The kit shares some common components with Airfix’s Stalwart, but the new Saracen parts look crisp, clean and well thought out. The packaging still has the oversized bag issue, which is disappointing, but the plastic itself looks good: no obvious flash, no warped frames, no major sink marks, decent internal detail, plastic tyres, and plenty of options for opening doors and hatches. At around £31–34, it looks like a strong value release and possibly a better-tooled kit than the Stalwart itself. I’m looking forward to building this one properly and giving it a more weathered, operational finish.
