The Florida Everglades: Research for Restoration (Documentary)

A full length documentary about research projects in the Everglades, Keys, and Lake Okeechobee. The Florida Everglades has been heavily altered and destroyed by man. In order to save this ecosystem, the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) was enacted to restore the Everglades. In order to determine what efforts need to be made to restore the Everglades, Florida Atlantic University's Avian Ecology Lab is assisting CERP by working on several research projects focusing on wading birds and their prey. Using wading birds as an indicator species in the Florida Everglades, Lake Okeechobee, and Florida Keys can help evaluate the health of these ecosystems. Also experience a few days in the life of being a Biologist or Scientific Field Technician. This smelly, dirty, hot, buggy, and exciting lifestyle is not for everyone! Join me as I guide you through several research projects exploring many areas from Lake Okeechobee to as far south as Big Pine Key.
