Jali Mady Susso is a master of the kora and a respected jali (griot) from The Gambia. He has devoted his life to the kora, upholding the tradition of Jaliya — the Mandinka way of telling history, offering praise, and preserving memory through music. He passed this sacred knowledge to his son Abdoulie Susso, who walked beside him to ceremonies, learning not just the instrument, but the spirit of the music.
