This Japanese Town Completely Stole Our Day! 🇯🇵 | Kurashiki's Hidden Charm
Kurashiki wasn't supposed to be one of the highlights of our Japan trip... It was simply a stop between Hiroshima and Himeji. But sometimes those unplanned stops end up becoming the places you remember the most. We wandered from Kurashiki Station into the beautiful Bikan Historical Quarter, fuelled ourselves with donuts and hot chocolate from Donut Tree (because priorities 😄), climbed the hill to the 1,100-year-old Kanryu-ji Temple for sweeping views over town, then spent the afternoon getting wonderfully lost among the canals, traditional buildings and quiet back streets. Along the way we watched traditional river boats glide through the canals, spotted jinrikisha pulling visitors through the historic district, grabbed a coffee, admired the famous Jeans Street (my wallet politely suggested we keep moving), tried the famous blue denim-themed ice cream, and somehow finished the day buying authentic Kojima denim... from a gachapon machine! Sometimes the best travel memories come from places you never planned to spend much time in. Kurashiki was definitely one of those places. If you enjoy slow travel, hidden gems and exploring Japan one step at a time, you're in the right place. 👍 If you enjoyed the walk, please leave a Like and consider subscribing for more adventures across Japan and beyond.
