Japan's Strangest Train? Riding the Shonan Suspended Monorail! 🇯🇵

Welcome aboard one of Japan's most unique railways! Most visitors ride the Shonan Monorail simply to get from Ofuna to Enoshima... but for me, the journey was the main attraction. Suspended beneath its track, the Shonan Monorail twists, climbs and dives through suburban streets unlike anything we have back home in Australia. With front-row views from the driver's cab, tight corners that feel more like a rollercoaster than a commuter train, and plenty of opportunities to jump off and film it from below (because... of course I did!), this turned out to be one of my favourite transport experiences in Japan. We even squeezed in a quick look around Enoshima before hopping straight back on for the return trip. Sometimes the destination is amazing... Sometimes the journey steals the show. If you enjoy quirky transport, trains, Japan travel and exploring places a little differently, I think you'll enjoy this one. 👍 If you enjoyed the ride, I'd love it if you left a Like and subscribed for more Japan adventures and transport oddities from Journeys Matter.
