3 Best Friends VS. The Off-Grid House - Getting Ready For A Baby!

The crew just got bigger! This week, we bring out my buddy Jarri to join the off grid effort to finish this old house and get everything ready for the new baby. We kick off the week by diving into the final polish on the cedar walls and cedar ceiling in the bathroom. After firing up the little diesel heater to dry the room, we get the new flooring down and run the last of the electrical wiring for the lights and switches. The full-steam-ahead off grid bathroom build is underway! Then it's a journey across Newfoundland. We pick up Jarri at 2:30 AM in St. John's, followed by a three-hour run to retrieve Kelly's dream antique cast iron claw foot tub. After two boat runs and transporting the heavy tub across the island on the quad, tragedy strikes when we accidentally break off something on the tub. Despite a huge storm rolling in, we get the tub and bathroom sink installed and complete the new bathroom lighting. The teamwork continues as we move into the kitchen renovation to cut the butcher block counter top and install Kelly's highly anticipated farmhouse sink.
