Have a look at the future of St. Mary’s, Shrewsbury with us following urgent conservation to the world-renowned stained-glass windows. Using sustainable practices this two-year £330,000 project funded in part by a £246,000 NLHF grant, this project helped conserve stained glass windows affected by vandalism and environmental factors. Through regular workshops at the church, a stained-glass festival, art exhibitions and the hard work of volunteers the project also engaged new visitors and allowed the local community to re-connect with St. Mary’s. 70,000 people now visit the church annually and can enjoy new interpretation and a Play and Learn area created with sustainable materials.
