Beato Angelico. Once in a lifetime exhibition in Palazzo Strozzi and Museum of San Marco in Florence
"Beato Angelico as you have never seen him before" it's the most appropriate definition of the exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi and the Museum of San Marco in Florence. It has been 70 years since the last monographic show on Beato Angelico. One of the greatest exponents of the early 15th century, the painter who, together with Masaccio best represents the transition from late Gothic to Renaissance art. The exhibition, divided into two sections, is the result of an enormous four years work. 140 works from 70 different lenders, including the Louvre, the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, the Alte Pinakothek in Munich, the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, the Metropolitan Museum New York and the NAtional GAllery Washington. For the occasion, 28 works have been restored and the altarpieces scattered around the world have been brought together. #beatoangelico, #fraangelico, #palazzostrozzi, #museodisanmarcofirenze,
