Frank Oakley Lecture - In the Steps of Fra Angelico
Francis Oakley, interim director of the Clark and a noted historian, presents "In the Footsteps of Fra Angelico: Savonarola and the Florentine Millennial Dream" on June 1, 2016. Oakley addresses the dramatic rise and tragic fall of Girolamo Savonarola (1452–98) as a religious reformer and civic leader in Renaissance Florence, as well as the difficulties historians have encountered in trying to make sense of his life.
