Dentro das muralhas, encontram-se ruínas da Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Loreto, igrejas e o antigo Paço do Concelho, com vestígios de uma cisterna. Localização, situada na margem do Rio Guadiana, no limite do Grande Lago do Alqueva, oferece vistas deslumbrantes. Próxima de Espanha (Olivença) e de outras vilas alentejanas como Alandroal e Elvas.
