The Ferry Road Footpath takes a route between Town Marshes to the west, and Havenbeach Marshes to the east. It is part of the Sandlings Walk, which is a 59-mile walk that begins at Rushmere Common on the outskirts of Ipswich and ends in Southwold. This early morning walk by the marshes is a mixture of reeds, big skies and birdsong. Getting here: The footpath is, unsurprisingly, on Ferry Road. What3Words location: recorders.rifled.hiked.
