Submersible Pump - Stuck in the Well - 3 Ways it can Happen!

Were pulling submersible pumps out of wells that have been stuck in the casing. These three jobs show how they can get stuck by homeowners and professionals. The first job a homeowner decides to pull the pump himself and removes the well seal bolts completely. After two of them fall into the well he decided to call me. Pulling this pump was not too bad as luck was on our side. Trying not to pull hard when it started dragging helped to keep it moving. When we got the pump out we found the two bolts and that the pump was indeed clogged with iron. The second job we find a well a plumber/handyman had worked on. This time he took everything alose and the pump fell down in the well. Lucky the well was only 150' deep and only 100' of 4" pipe. We made a tool with a cable at the end and retrieved the pump by pulling the wire. After we put everything back together and there was nothing wrong with the well. The third job was with a little backup, Mr. Teme and Mr. Deen brought an air compressor to blow out the well. This well was run over by the owner's daughter with her car, breaking the casing off below the ground. We repaired the casing late that night and got the water back on to the house. The next morning we started to attempt to pull the pump out but it had gotten stuck in the well. The rocks and dirt from around the casing had fallen in the well and jammed around the top of the pump. Using the air compressor we started blowing out all the debris and eventually the rocks and got the pump free. After pulling the pump completely out we blew the well out all the way to clear any remaining mud and debris. We put the pump back in and hooked everything back up like it never happened, lucky for the homeowner this could have been a lot worse. Thanks for Watching!
