The Lej da Vadret is located at the bottom of the picturesque Roseg valley with the Glüschaint and Chapütschin glaciers as a backdrop. The lake can be reached on foot in about an hour from the Roseggletscher restaurant. The Lej da Vadret is a glacial lake on the territory of the municipality of Samedan in the canton of Grisons. It lies between Piz Bernina to the east and Piz Corvatsch to the west at an altitude of 2160 meters above sea level. The lake is fed by the adjacent Rosegg Glacier and drained by the Roseggbach stream. Above the lake, at the southern end, is the Coaz hut about one kilometer away as the crow flies. The Lej da Vadret is about 1500m long and up to 300m wide. The easiest way to reach the mountain lake is a hike of about three hours from Pontresina.
