Old US 40 around the Salt Lake City International Airport
The very last section of Interstate 80 was completed in August 1986. Up until that time, traffic used old US 40 which abutted the south side of the airport. The road also passed close to the site of an aviation disaster: United Flight UAL 227 crashed on November 11, 1965, killing 43 passengers
