Raising A Wild Baby Bird: Steve the Starling
We found Steve as a nestling who had fallen out of our giant cottonwood tree. We could not place him back and the bird rehabs were too busy. We decided to help him out and raise him. He was kept in a shoe box, kept warm, and fed wet dog food. We kept him near a window or outside most of the time. He flew away after about 2 weeks of care. Super grateful for the experience and I hope he lives a long bird life. (I am not 100% sure he is a starling, but the name is fun!) June - July 2021 #StevetheStarling
