DF no.371, 'Seven Bells' improvised drum solo, White Ghost kit, marching bass drums, vintage Premier
Saturday didn't quite work out so had another crack at this on Sunday. Details of White Ghost kit available elsewhere on my channel. Drums range from late '20s/1930s to 1970s. Diary: Friday morning, I had to come into work on a public holiday for a short time so went and took it out on the kit before the clients arrived. (I can't set this kit up at home, and it sounds best in a large, empty room in any case.) So I wanted to do a DrumF++kery playing this kit harder, hence 'Seven Bells'. This still isn't as hard as Friday morning's blast, which left my ears ringing and my hands shaking. All good fun. Usual recording method - couple of ancient Tascam field recorders and a cheapo overhead into one of the cameras. (One recorder failed on Saturday morning, the other this morning, so tried to cover it in the mix.) The recording is not messed with, just a straight take.
