29. From NH-44 to Sri Hazur Sahib: A Soulful Detour (24th Dec 2025).

Road Trip, Amritsar-Kanyakumari, (Day 29) After arriving well past midnight, we parked our car at Kanaka Durga Bharat CNG Petrol Bunk, Tekriyal, on NH-44 in Telangana. Despite the late hour, the cool weather, peaceful surroundings, and complete sense of safety ensured a wonderful night’s sleep inside the car. Even when the filling station lights went off around 1 a.m., everything remained calm and comfortable. By 8 a.m., we were back on the road. Since Takhat Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, was only a short detour away, we decided to seek blessings there. Leaving NH-44, we enjoyed a leisurely drive through a mix of national and state highways, stopping occasionally for coffee and a short break before reaching the holy shrine in the afternoon. A soulful darshan at the historic Gurudwara, visits to other sacred sites, a peaceful parikrama of the beautifully maintained complex, and the blessing of community langar made for an unforgettable experience. Back on the highway once again, we debated whether to halt for the night or continue driving. Unable to find a suitable hotel, we pressed on until a pleasant-looking highway hotel on NH-53 caught our eye.
