Diagnose Darmkrebs– Experte Prof. Dominik Paul Modest klärt auf

Colorectal cancer is usually diagnosed through a combination of examinations, such as a colonoscopy, a tissue sample (biopsy), blood tests, and imaging procedures like CT or MRI scans. But what happens after the diagnosis? The treatment of colorectal cancer depends on various factors, such as the size and spread of the tumor, the patient's overall health, and the stage of the disease. Typical symptoms can include abdominal pain, weight loss, and blood in the stool. Early diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer can significantly improve the chances of recovery. In this video, Professor Dominik Paul Modest, Senior Physician at the Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Tumor Immunology at Charité Campus Virchow-Klinikum, uses a real, anonymized patient case to explain the diagnosis of colorectal cancer, the medical procedures involved, and the personal approach to this difficult cancer diagnosis.
