Nearly 1 Million Pound Superload on the Interstate [4K]

Edwards Rigging, out of Shelbyville, KY, recently finished the last in the series of 480-ton truck cargos known as “superloads," to complete a large auto parts stamping press at the Martinrea facility in Hopkinsville, KY, where it will be assembled as part of a plant expansion project. The oversized hauler made six trips from the Eddyville, KY, river port, via U.S. 68 and I-24, to Hopkinsville. Each load clocked in at roughly 960,000 lbs -- 12x the normal weight allowed on the roads!!
