Colorado Football: Colorado Defeats Wyoming in Ralphie VII Debut | Game Recap

Colorado broke in the Ralphie VII era with a commanding 37-20 win over Wyoming Saturday night at Folsom Field. A crowd of 53,442 fans witnessed the inaugural run of the real-life buffalo, followed by the return of quarterback Kaidon Salter to the Buffaloes’ starting lineup. The transfer QB wasted no time showcasing his playmaking ability, completing 18-of-28 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns while adding 86 yards on the ground, including a 35-yard touchdown run to seal the victory in the fourth quarter. Salter’s early chemistry with Omarion Miller helped spark the offense, connecting for a 29-yard score, while Sincere Brown turned on the jets for a 68-yard touchdown reception his second explosive TD of 65+ yards this season. The Buffs’ defense stepped up in a big way behind Arden Walker, who posted six tackles, 1.5 sacks, and delivered a safety in the end zone, Colorado’s first player recorded safety in nearly 15 years. Makari Vickers came up with a crucial red-zone pass breakup, and the defense limited Wyoming to just 114 yards in the first half. Micah Welch provided another highlight with a 44-yard burst, Simeon Price punched in a 1-yard touchdown for his second score in as many weeks, and Joseph Williams hauled in a 47-yard strike from Salter early in the second half to extend the Buffs’ advantage. By the end of the night, Colorado piled up a season high 497 yards of total offense, controlling both sides of the ball and energizing one of the largest Folsom Field crowds in the last 17 seasons. With the win, Colorado (2-2) enters Big 12 play with momentum and a quarterback receiver tandem capable of creating fireworks.
