Село ледь не спалило вдову за відьомство, але приїжджий знахар викрив справжню отруйницю

The young and beautiful widow Oksana lives on the outskirts of the village. Women envy her beauty, and men are afraid to approach her because of evil tongues. When the bread in the fields suddenly begins to dry up and livestock die en masse in the village, the village headman's wife, the domineering and cruel Tatyana, points out Oksana. She convinces the frightened villagers that the widow has ruined the village. Oksana is dragged out of her house, beaten, and is about to be tried by a lynching, demanding that she confess to conspiring with evil spirits. The community is ready to tie her to a cart and throw her into the river.
