Go the Distance - Nathan Grant: Hero, True Love, Family Man - When Calls the Heart [WCTH]

By the end of the most recent season, Nathan has asked Elizabeth to marry him, and the 4 of them are headed toward becoming a blended family. — 📃 It’s AMAZING how well so many lyrics in this song - “Go the Distance” by Michael Bolton from Disney’s “Hercules” in 1997 - are 100% spot on for Nathan’s story arc on WCTH! (Pretty good for a song from a Disney movie that came out almost 30 years ago! 😁) Interestingly, the “hero problem” Hercules deals with in the movie is realizing huge feats of strength and being famous are not measures of a true hero. “A hero’s strength is measured by his heart,” as the song says. ♥️ If anything, Nathan has the opposite “hero problem.” He has no issues with the “strength of heart” thing. It’s just who he is naturally. But Nathan is sometimes self-conscious about other people’s praise of him. (Which means there are a few lyrics in the song that don’t QUITE fit Nathan, but the overall theme is there.) — I own nothing.
