Mai testet: Allergiker vor Auftauchen einer Allergie erkennen? | Quarks

Our presenter, Dr. Mai-Thi Nguyen-Kim, has heard that certain risk factors can be used to identify allergy sufferers before they ever show any allergic symptoms. She wants to test this with a group of test subjects, none of whom have ever shown any signs of allergy. The results are enlightening for some participants. Dear allergy sufferers and those who aren't yet allergic, or perhaps even those who aren't allergic at all, please note that this video is about risk factors. If one or more of the allergy factors mentioned apply to you, don't panic! Allergists and other scientists will tell you that this only means that you COULD be allergic, not actually are! That's a significant difference. Anyone who thinks they might be allergic should have it checked out by a doctor anyway. The only way to be certain is through a controlled allergy test under expert supervision, which will tell you clearly whether you are allergic or perhaps not at all. As shown, four of the ten high-risk test subjects in our study were not allergic. This clearly shows that the test is only intended to provide clues. #Allergy #AllergySufferers
