Pollard - Managing First Year Regrowth
http://www.edibleacres.org Brief discussion of how I manage young pollard systems. Pollarding/coppicing is cutting trees or shrubs when they are dormant and allowing them to re-sprout. The new sprouts are then managed for various purposes, making pole wood, posts, firewood, etc. In this case I'm cleaning up the 1st year growth of black locusts that I pollarded to release nutrients and light in an area I want to grow more food in. Here is an article I found that may be useful for folks: https://midwestpermaculture.com/2012/... Edible Acres is a full service permaculture nursery located in the Finger Lakes area of NY state. We grow all layers of perennial food forest systems and provide super hardy, edible, useful, medicinal, easy to propagate, perennial plants for sale locally or for shipping around the country... http://www.edibleacres.org/purchase - Your order supports the research and learning we share here on youtube. We also offer consultation and support in our region or remotely. http://www.edibleacres.org/services Happy growing!
