These are how I learned about Coppice! (Osage Orange and Honey locust)
Without my mistakes with these two species on our farm it might have been several more years before I stumbled upon coppice and tried it out intentionally. These trees, and the act of cutting them down are probably one of the main things that turned me on to regenerative and and permaculture from just basic homesteading when we first got started on this land. Their rapid regeneration should be looked at as a boon and not a bane, every year my stock get shade where they didn’t have it before, and it won’t be much longer till I also get to beef up our wood pile and add more biochar from biomass sequestered on our farm(well biochar that’s not just made from willow) from them!
