【東京町探検】運河に佇む貨物線の廃線跡|東京都港湾局専用線の遺構を歩く(江東区塩浜)Exploring Abandoned Railway Lines 木場・洲崎と廃線跡探訪③

"Tokyo Town Explorer" takes you on a historical and geographical journey through the streets of Tokyo. Shifting gears from our previous exploration of the history of the Suzaki red-light district, this time we'll explore the abandoned railway line of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Port Authority, which once supported logistics in the waterfront area. Starting from Shiokaze Bridge in Shiohama, Koto Ward, we'll carefully introduce the remnants of the tracks quietly remaining amidst residential areas and parking lots, signs on metropolitan land, and the precious bridge piers left behind in the Toyosu Canal. In the second half, "Side Stories " we'll use current Google Maps and 1963 aerial photographs to unravel the vast freight network connecting Etchujima Freight Station to the Shinkin Freight Line, and the role of Onagigawa Freight Station, which once flourished as a land-water junction, from a geographical perspective. Let's trace together the memories of a railway that ended its role with the development of the city.
