【東京町探検】木場と洲崎はなぜ「波除碑」の町になったのか|貯木場跡・旧海岸線・洲崎神社を歩く(Kiba Susaki Seaside town) 木場・洲崎と廃線跡探訪①
This time, we'll walk from Kiba Station to Susaki Shrine, exploring the area around Suzaki, which once faced Tokyo Bay. Kiba developed as a timber yard, Susaki was right next to the sea, and two "wave-breaking monuments" remain. Walking through the town, it becomes clear that this land has both benefited from water and experienced floods throughout its history. In the video, we'll trace the origins of Kiba, the landscape of Susaki, and its history, using Edo-period maps, woodblock prints, and Meiji-era topographic maps. We'll visit the wave-breaking monument at Heikyu Bridge, the memorial tower for war victims, Nitta Bridge, Suzaki Shrine, and other locations, exploring the "memories of the seaside" that remain in the current townscape.
