Maraton 25 z 52 - ucieczka przed słońcem do Puszczy Zielonka

It's the weekend, and so is another marathon (I'm only one more away from the halfway point of this challenge). Saturday's heat promised a tough ride, and since running on city concrete in such weather wouldn't be very wise, I decided to head for the Zielonka Forest without a second thought. It was still stifling and hot under the shelter of the trees, but at least I could breathe during the effort. However, the unexpected and bothersome problem turned out to be not the weather but... the ubiquitous insects. Thousands of bugs attacked me practically constantly (a powerful arsenal of horseflies, mosquitoes, wasps, etc.), reducing my comfort and causing my heart rate to spike as they attacked my eyes and ears. Despite this, I managed to finish the marathon on time, keeping a relatively low average heart rate, but it exhausted me considerably. I need to devote the next week to good recovery, because next week, as a change, I'm heading to a mountain race where the distance will be slightly longer and the route much more challenging (fingers crossed!).
