Driving My Mercedes W124 Into Africa | Morocco Rally Ep.3

After more than 2,500 kilometres through Europe, Opa Gerhard finally rolls onto African soil. What followed wasn't what I expected. Our first day in Morocco was filled with long border queues, rugged mountain tracks, old Mercedes everywhere and the first real test of everything we'd done to prepare this 35-year-old Mercedes-Benz W124 for the Rallye Macadam. Alongside Jakob and Benny in their BMW 530d, we left the tarmac behind and headed into landscapes that became rougher, dustier and more remote with every kilometre. The W124 continued to surprise us, while the lowered BMW was already beginning to show the effects of Morocco's unforgiving terrain. This episode marks the real beginning of the adventure. Welcome to Morocco. A special thank you to De Wildeveldt, who has been far more than just a sponsor of this adventure. Their support, encouragement and belief in this project have helped make this journey possible.
