I designed and made a Regency Spencer jacket from scratch
In this video I design, pattern make and sew a Regency Spencer jacket completely from scratch with no commercial pattern, no shortcuts. I walk through the full design process: the historical references I drew from, how I drafted the pattern, and the construction decisions I made along the way. The three main technical features are the gigot sleeves, the knife-pleated hem, and the smocked back panel, all designed and executed from scratch in a gold metallic brocade.
