Italy descends into chaos as pro-Palestine protesters clash with Italian police

Chaos has broken out in Italy after pro-Palestine protesters clashed with police, as the country refuses to recognise a Palestinian state. Thousands of protesters took to the streets as people stood in solidarity with Palestinian’s amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. According to the BBC, Rome and Milan saw the biggest crowds of demonstrators, with the protest reportedly coordinated by trade unions. The protest spiralled out of control as tensions quickly spilt over around Milan’s central station, leading to roughly 60 officers being injured. Italy's ANSA news agency reported that, apart from the roughly 60 injured police officers, 10 people were arrested in Milan.
