Bibimbap
Bibimbap offers flavorful, colorful and nutritious meal in a single bowl. This recipe shows how simple traditional Korean bibimbap can be made. You can make variations of this dish depending on the ingredients that use. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ingredients 1/2 zucchini 1/2 carrot 100g bean sprouts 100g or 3.5ounces beef sirloin 1 egg 1~2 cloves garlic 1/2 teaspoon salt (one pinch will be used when cooking zucchini, carrot, egg, and bean sprouts) 2 serving portions of steamed rice Bibimbap Sauce 2 tablespoons gochujang 1 tablespoon water 1 teaspoon honey 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil Beef marinade 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon brown sugar 1 teaspoon sesame oil Ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic Instructions. 1. Cut the zucchini diagonally, and then julienne using the mandolin.. Cut the carrot diagonally and julienne the mandolin. 2. Make a marinade for the beef. Finely mince the garlic. In a small bowl combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and ground black pepper and sesame oil. 3. Julienned(cut the beef into thin strips) the beef and mix with marinade sauce. Set it aside for about 10 minutes. 4. Heat the pan over medium and add cooking oil. Make fried eggs. Transfer to the plate. Cook julienned zucchini with one pinch of salt. Transfer to the plate. Add oil to the pan and stir fry the carrot and add one pinch of salt. Transfer to the plate. 5. Rinse the pan and place bean sprouts to the pan. Spread the bean sprouts and add one pinch of salt and two tablespoons of water. Cover with the lid and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes. Turn off the heat, add sesame oil. Transfer to the plate. 6. Add the marinated beef to the hot pan. You don’t need to add oil when cooking the meat. I like to stir-fry the marinated beef at the end, because the sauce tends to stick in the pan 7. Mix the bibimbap sauce ingredients in a bowl. 8. Put the rice in a bowl, and add the vegetables and the meat to cover the rice, and the egg on the top of the rice. Serve the sauce at the side. 9. Before eating, mix the ingredients with the sauce in the bowl. Serve hot.
