A Concrete Passive House Built by an IT Developer The second passive house visited was in Wonju, Gangwon-do. Seemingly a bit large for a passive house, this home is a state-of-the-art playground incorporating IoT technology! It is said to be a home equipped with a monitor that allows you to effortlessly control doorbells, blinds, and lighting remotely, and even monitors to check the comfort levels of the passive house at a glance. The couple admitted that they hadn't initially wanted a passive house. However, one day, while thinking about building a defect-free home, they changed their minds after visiting a passive house equipped with radiant heating and cooling. Captivated by the feeling of being in a cool and refreshing cave, the couple decided to build a passive house with a concrete structure that is advantageous for the system, as installation was only possible in environments where humidity could be controlled, just like in a passive house. Having built a passive house, the couple wanted to verify if it was functioning properly, so they utilized the husband's expertise as an IT developer to install a cube capable of measuring air quality. They can check not only temperature and humidity but also fine dust, formaldehyde, and even the noise level of the house on the monitor! They say they started keeping the windows tightly closed because they could see the fine dust levels rising whenever they opened them. The couple personally designed and constructed the house, including not only the interior but also the lighting. Thanks to state-of-the-art IoT technology installed throughout the home, the Wi-Fi never cuts out, even in the bathroom.
