It divides so much opinion mostly because people either love or hate those plastic wrapped abominations that you get from the local supermarket. Me, i'm the latter when it comes to shop bought scotch eggs. What you get when you bites into one of these imposters, is boring dry as heck grey sausage meat with a chalky naff boiled egg in the middle, just rubbish. Now I wanted to make this video a long time ago, but I was inspired to get on it sooner thanks to a clip I found on youtube of masterchef canada, where the contestants were asked to make a scotch egg. What I saw can only be described as a crime against pork and egg based foods! As you will see from my rant, that I couldn't let this one lie. To me, the perfect Scotch egg should be portable, but also have a good gooey yolk in its centre. The meat should be well seasoned, juicy and the crumb nice and crisp. If you are eating these straight from the fryer, they are at their best. However, my scotch eggs will keep in the fridge for a good few days and still keep their yolks runny. #scotcheggs #scotcheggrecipe #lunchrecipes To make my Scotch eggs you will need: ►500g of good quality pork mince (ground pork) ►5-6 good free range eggs (plus 2 for egg wash) ►1 tsp salt ►1 tsp black pepper ►3 tbsp freshly chopped chives ►1 tsp of thyme ►1 tsp of sage ►1/4 tsp of grated nutmeg ►50g of fresh white breadcrumbs For the crumb coating ►About 70g of panko breadcrumbs ►About 70g of plain flour ►2 beaten eggs ►Salt & pepper Follow me here: Facebook -   / adamgarrattfood   Twitter -   / adamgarratt_1   Instagram -   / adamgarratt_1
