Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number 60 of 2018 Article 3 paragraph 3 confirms that the acceptance of new students for undergraduate (S1) programs at State Universities (PTN) in addition to being carried out through the SNMPTN and SBMPTN pathways, can also be done through the Independent Pathway organized by each University. Therefore, the Chancellors of 17 PTNs that are members of the West Region PTN BKS have agreed to be able to hold a joint independent university entrance selection program in 2021 called the 2021 PTN-BARAT SMM program.
