The Walk - EP 9 - Great Central Railway - Pilsley Colliery & The Four Minute Mile

I start at the site of Pilsley Colliery and Great Central Railway station in Derbyshire, before walking the 'Tom Hulatt Mile' to Tibshelf Baptist Church, where Tom, the only working class athlete involved in the famous 1954 Oxford University Roger Bannister sub four minute mile, is buried. The coal miner, and son of a rat catcher, Tom Hulatt is barely mentioned despite finishing third in the iconic race. *Made some merch for the railway fans like myself.
