Das Monster! Der F4 Orca 1250 front Flügel.

Sometimes you're seriously impressed with something just from unpacking it, and that was certainly the case with the F4 Orca 1250 front wing. This thing is absolutely wide, very, very wide! Way wider than anything you'd normally have, and yet it's very narrow. F4 advertises it as their downwinder foil. So, perfect for winging with just a paddle or a parawing. That's exactly why I bought it. But today I wanted to test it with a regular 6m² Vayu wing in 7-10 knot winds. I'm a little worried about the two wingtips, as they stick out quite far beside the board; you wouldn't want to fall on them. Sure enough, the slightest gust and the board lifts off. How fast must it go with a downwinder board! Crazy. The lulls in the wind can last forever, a little leg pumping and you're flying all the way to America. The only thing that takes practice is jibing. Tight turns aren't ideal for the foil; the board tends to catch an edge. But if you fly a wide arc, you'll fly forever. Impressive! The next test will be with the wing and the parawing, wind permitting. We'll see when it works out. Who among you has already been out on such a huge piece of equipment?
