The Tundiqui, or Tundique, is a dance of colonial origin. In Bolivia, in its beginnings, this dance was performed mainly by the Afro-Bolivian community during Easter, at the "Fiesta de San Benito" (Feast of Saint Benedict), celebrated in the Chapel of Mururata. The Tundiqui, Tuntuna, or Negritos, is a dance of Afro-Bolivian origin from the town of Mururata, located in the tropical Yungas valleys of Bolivia. This dance was practiced by the Afro-Bolivian people in conjunction with the Saya and Semba at the "Fiesta de San Benito," which took place on Easter Sunday at the Mururata Hacienda in the Nor Yungas Province.
