This Organization Spent Decades Discouraging Long-Term Plans—Here's What Changed #jehovahswitnesses

For decades, Jehovah's Witnesses were encouraged to live with a sense of urgency. Many of us grew up hearing that this system of things would soon end and that long-term plans, careers, and even retirement were of little importance. Yet in 2010, Watchtower published a beautifully produced 30-page brochure devoted to charitable planning, wills, trusts, retirement accounts, life estates, and estate giving. In this video, I compare the message many of us grew up with to the contents of this little-known publication and ask a simple question: "What changed?" As a fourth-generation Jehovah's Witness born and raised in the organization, I share my personal experience and walk through several examples from the brochure. My purpose is not to give legal or financial advice, but to raise awareness and encourage thoughtful discussion.
