Potere ad ogni passo | Francesca Albanese | TEDxBergamo

Drawing on reflections born from listening deeply to a torn land—Palestine, a land of broken promises, denied rights, and today more than ever, lives torn apart—Francesca Albanese, United Nations Special Rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, intertwines experience and thought to question the meaning of power today. Power not as domination over, but as the possibility of: choosing, every day, to remain human. In a time when the reactionary forces of the past seem intent on reclaiming the present, power reveals itself as an act of lucid presence, rooted in responsibility, ethics, and a political love that knows how to become commitment and that does not retreat, even when hands tremble and fear strikes. A spark that, step by step, can still transform reality. In each of us, and for everyone. International lawyer, expert in human rights and the Middle East. Since 2022, she has been the United Nations Special Rapporteur for the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967. A Georgetown University affiliate, she is the author of Palestinian Refugees in International Law (OUP, 2020) and other academic studies. She has collaborated with ARDD and worked for the United Nations in various roles (2003–2012). In Italian, she published "J'Accuse" (Fuoriscena, 2023). This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
