Philosophy of the Human Person: Human Person as Being With & for Others: Institutional Relationships
How do our relationships with society shape who we are as human persons? In this lesson, we explore The Human Person as Being With and for Others through the ideas of zoon politikon and pagkamakatao. A human person does not live alone—we grow, decide, work, and find meaning through our relationships with other people and the institutions around us. This video also discusses institutional relationships in three important areas: Economic relationships – how people work, exchange goods and services, and support their needs Political relationships – how people participate in governance, leadership, laws, and civic life Cultural relationships – how traditions, beliefs, values, language, and practices shape community life This student-friendly lesson is intended for Grade 11 Philosophy of the Human Person under the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum. It encourages learners to reflect on how responsible participation, cooperation, respect, and concern for others help build a more humane society. Watch until the end and reflect: How can you become a person who is truly with and for others?
