Florida Woman Refused to Cooperate During Traffic Stop - Police Quickly Discover Why

Escambia County, Florida – April 29, 2025 Deputies were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle being driven recklessly through the area. Officers conducted a traffic stop after the vehicle pulled into a residential driveway. Upon making contact, the driver refused to provide her driver’s license, registration, or proof of insurance and immediately became argumentative with deputies regarding the stop. Officers also noted that all three occupants inside the vehicle were uncooperative, and deputies detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. Additional units responded to assist as deputies repeatedly ordered the driver to exit the vehicle. Despite multiple verbal commands, the driver refused to comply. After several unsuccessful attempts to gain compliance, deputies opened the vehicle door and removed the occupants from the car. While the driver was being taken into custody, she dropped a cup containing a large bag of marijuana weighing approximately 32.4 grams. Deputies stated she then began physically resisting while attempting to stomp on the bag. Officers eventually secured the woman in handcuffs and placed her into a patrol vehicle. She was charged with possession of marijuana over 20 grams and resisting an officer without violence. The remaining occupants were released at the scene without charges.
