Here's Why You Don't Call 911 During a Routine Traffic Stop

On September 29, 2024 in Orlando, Florida, officers were conducting routine patrol when a tag check on a Mercury revealed the registered owner's driver's license was suspended. Because the Mercury's window tint was so dark, the officers couldn't see who was actually driving, so they decided to pull the vehicle over as allowed by a 2020 Supreme Court ruling that said officers could assume the registered owner of a vehicle is the driver if they so nothing to suggest otherwise. This video serves as an education resource of a real-life application of this ruling. 0:00 The Suspended License Stop 0:53 Driver Calls 911 on the Officers 1:15 "Why are you calling 911?" 1:59 Tactical Extraction from the Vehicle 3:27 The Moment of Truth 6:26 Final Charges and Case Closure Police Ride-Alongs' content is created for the purposes of providing in-depth reports on real-world law enforcement encounters and public safety issues.
