In this episode, we spend the day at Lake Akan and visit Ice Land Akan, a winter activity area held on the frozen lake. We start with a short but fun banana boat ride on the ice, then head into a fishing tent for our first wakasagi ice fishing battle. The rule is simple: two hours, and the person who catches the most fish wins. It was an unusually warm winter day, so the lake surface had many puddles instead of perfect snowy ice. Still, it became a memorable Hokkaido winter experience. After fishing, we have our wakasagi cooked as tempura and eat it inside the campervan before heading to a hot spring to warm up.
